The Berkshire Downs
The Berkshire Downs sit between the Chilterns and Vale of the White Horse and are famous as being an area where race horses are reared and trained. One of the most famous tourist attractions in this area is Highclere Castle, where the TV series and film Downton Abbey were filmed, and which maintains an exhibition on the discovery of Tutankhamun by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon. Not far away is Watership Down, iconic children’s book about a family of rabbits.
