Buckinghamshire
Buckinghamshire is traversed by the Chiltern Hills, rolling chalk hills with quaint villages maintaining historic traditions, thatched and flint and brick cottages, cricket pitches and tea rooms. Its county town is Buckingham, from where the name of the Queen’s London residence “Buckingham Palace” comes. Buckinghamshire is a popular filming location for TV and film producers because of its geographical and man-made beauty, one special favourite being “Midsomer Murders”. Buckinghamshire is on the top of the list for Midsomer Murders fans to visit. One of Buckinghamshire’s most charming towns is Marlow, home of the original “Sandhurst Military College”, and of Britain’s 5-time rowing Olympian, Sir Steve Redgrave.
