Berkshire
Berkshire is called the “Royal County”, reached easily by train from central London and one of the most populated counties in England. The county town is Reading, a thriving centre with theatres, museums, green spaces, agricultural college and a ruined abbey. Another important tourist town is Windsor, one of Queen Elizabeth 2nd’s favourite residences: Windsor Castle. The castle is one of England’s most popular tourist attractions, open 364 days of the year and its chapel, St George’s is the burial place of 10 past monarchs and venue for royal weddings. Windsor is a vibrant riverside town with much to see and do in addition to the castle.
